North Ranch Park
update June 19, 2023
A message from the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District

update March 6, 2023
The Parks Department began work on the new playgrounds planned for Territory and North Ranch Parks by tearing out the existing Territory Park playground. A new playground is currently being installed with a completion date early this month, weather permitting. The Parks Department will also be tearing out the North Ranch Park playground mid-March, with a new playground install scheduled in early April.
posts from 2022:
North Ranch Park, Brannon Gearhart Park and Territory Park are all getting new playground equipment ordered in 2022. The Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District recently posted a community feedback survey that was open through February 7, 2022. Images from that survey may be found here in the Gallery under North Ranch Park.
Update February 2022: The North Ranch Park playground is one component of a larger overall park improvement project. Conversion of the parking lot from road base to asphalt and the addition of an accessible path from the parking lot to the playground is included. The District is in the process of bidding the parking lot and path and should have bid results back sometime mid to late February. At that point, the District will have a much better idea of the overall budget impact and can then look to determine if the budget can be maximized to complete other improvements requested by the community. Stay tuned because the Metropolitan District will reach out to the entire North Ranch community, as well as the greater KC Ranch community, with updates on the process!
Update April 18, 2022: You may have noticed a contractor mobilized and working at the Park. We wanted to share this update from the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District.
The North Ranch Park parking lot and path will be under construction during the week of April 18, 2022. This work is anticipated to take approximately five to ten days. There will be some additional concrete repair under and around the shelter that will likely be completed this week or next. Unfortunately, there are significant issues with the procurement of playground equipment, which is currently taking six to eight months for delivery. The poured in place surfacing requires certain ambient temperatures for successful installation, so the playground will likely not be able to be fully replaced until the spring of 2023. If you have questions regarding the North Ranch Park project, feel free to contact Parks Supervisor, Richard Plack, at richardp@kcranch.org.
Update May 6, 2022: The asphalt parking lot and concrete path are complete. The dirt work contractor will come in the next few weeks to take care of contours and sod. Then it will be tables, benches and trash cans. Last but not least, will be the playground. If you have questions regarding the North Ranch Park project, feel free to contact Parks Supervisor, Richard Plack, at richardp@kcranch.org.
Update May 17, 2022: Dirt and sod work should be completed this week, baring any weather issues.
